Youth workers involved in the Y-CARE project have officially begun piloting newly developed training modules designed to strengthen professional resilience, well-being, and long-term sustainability in youth work. The piloting phase marks an important milestone in the project’s efforts to respond to the growing emotional and psychological demands faced by youth professionals across Europe.
The training modules, developed collaboratively by project partners, focus on enhancing the skills, resilience, and mental health of youth workers who often operate in high-pressure environments and support vulnerable populations. Through a holistic and trauma-informed approach, the program promotes self-awareness, peer support, and systemic change within youth services.
The piloting is supported by the development of a user-friendly e-learning platform that enables both in-person and digital learning. This blended format ensures accessibility, flexibility, and long-term sustainability of the training resources. The platform is expected to facilitate widespread adoption of the program and provide continuous professional development opportunities for youth workers.
The Y-CARE training curriculum defines clear learning outcomes in three key areas: knowledge, including specialised theoretical understanding of youth work challenges; skills, focusing on creative problem-solving and practical competencies; and responsibility and autonomy, enabling youth workers to manage complex situations and support the development of themselves and others in dynamic work environments.
The current piloting phase will allow participating youth workers to test the modules in real-life settings, provide feedback, and contribute to the final refinement of the training materials before their broader implementation across the sector.
