From 19 to 21 November 2025, partners of the Y-CARE – Youth-Centered Approaches for Resilience and Empowerment project gathered in Athens for an intensive Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) hosted by IASIS at their headquarters. The programme provided youth workers and partner organisations with practical tools to enhance emotional resilience, mental-health awareness and sustainable self-care practices.
The training opened with introductions and an overview of the programme’s objectives, followed by a series of thematic Learning Units. Participants explored the concept of burnout and strategies for building emotional resilience, discussed work–life balance and effective boundary setting, and improved their understanding of communication skills and emotional intelligence. These sessions were facilitated by IASIS, BildungsLab and IDEA, combining theoretical input with interactive group activities.

On the second day, the focus shifted to peer support by ISUM, collaborative work cultures, and approaches to strengthening mental-health support structures within youth organisations. The methods for promoting long-term self-care, reflection and sustainable everyday practices, were led by Tandem Plus and QC. Open discussions and Q&A sessions allowed participants to exchange experiences and reflect on applying the tools in their local contexts.
The LTTA concluded with a project management catch-up and evaluation, strengthening cooperation among partners and confirming next steps in ongoing project development. The Athens LTTA marked an important milestone for the Y-CARE project, equipping youth workers with valuable knowledge and fostering a shared commitment to creating healthier, more supportive environments for young people across Europe.
